Description |
Engine and Chassis:
04
Chevy Trailblazer (SUV) was used as
the platform for this build. It has a 4200
Vortec I6 engine (256 cubic inch, 300 hp) and an
L460E transmission (Overdrive). The frame has
not been cut. It rides on SS Trailblazer stock
20” wheels and new
GoodYear tires. When this build began
the engine/chassis had only 2,500 miles on it;
the odometer now reads 8,000. The original
exhaust, including catalytic converter and
muffler, remains (the resonator was removed to
accommodate the body design.) I cannot guarantee
it, but this truck should pass all federal/state
emission requirements.
Body:
This is a short wheelbase, step-side 1965 Chevy
truck. The rear fenders, bedsides, front panel,
steps and tailgate are all new. All other body
parts were blasted and sealed with two-part
epoxy sealer. The inside and outside cab floor
was sealed with Rhino bed liner material. The
outside cab bed liner is color matching and
cleared. All fender wells and inside door panels
were also sealed with color matching bed liner
material. Dynamat sound deadener was used on all
inside panels, all new tented glass and
windshield, Nu-relic power windows, remote power
door locks (lights flash when activated), new
mirrors, bumpers, chrome grille, tri-bar
headlights (with automatic daylight-on sensor in
dash), stainless steel tailgate chains/hooks,
LED brake lights with stainless steel housings,
brake lights in bed curl, Trailblazer trailer
receiver, custom built stainless steel box to
house jack and trailer hitch, mechanics tool box
mounted under bed floor. The new oak floor
(stainless steel bolts and runners) is raised
approximately five inches to accommodate
Trailblazer frame design.
Paint:
House-of-Kolor Raspberry II Pearle Kandy. This
is a three-part paint over silver. Wet sanded
and buffed.
Interior:
‘99 Chevy Suburban eight-way electric leather
seats, with electric lumbar, leather door panels
and leather headliner. The Trailblazer gauge
cluster, wiper & washer motor and steering
column were used. The Trailblazer wiring
harness, (factory connectors), was also
utilized. It has a seven inch, 160 watt
DVD/CD/stereo system (two 9” and two 6”
speakers. XM radio holder and antenna installed.
It is also equipped with a backup camera (camera
in tag frame). The Trailblazer center console
(with the ever important cup holders) was
modified to fit. The original shifter and
e-brake remain. The original fresh air floor
vents also remain.
AC/Heat/Defrost:
Vintage heat/air/defrost (servo
motor control). Billet controls and
ventsA 20.
